Paul Ricard 2017 (SRO) 14-15 october 2017

A record field of 21 PEUGEOT 308 Racing Cups will line up at Le Castellet (Paul Ricard), France, for the final meeting of the inaugural 308 Racing Cup. Although Julien BRICHÉ and Teddy CLARET have already sewn up the overall and Junior championships, the fight for the Gentleman Driver crown remains to be settled in the south of France.

•Thanks to a score of 7 victories from 10 races, Julien BRICHÉ sewed up the 2017 title after Round 5 of the 308 Racing Cup at Magny-Cours. He will consequently be able to focus on enjoying himself at the year’s finale at Le Castellet. The Frenchman’s reward for winning the inaugural series is a brand new TCR-spec PEUGEOT 308 Racing Cup, along with factory driver status in the colours of PEUGEOT SPORT in 2018.

•Teddy CLAIRET has emerged as the season’s most prolific Junior (under 25) thanks to no fewer than 7 podium finishes. He is also sure of collecting overall silver honours and will be invited to contest the opening clash of the 2018 TCR Benelux series in a PEUGEOT 308 Racing Cup TCR along with the winner of the Gentlemen Driver class.

•The best-placed Gentlemen Driver since the year’s midpoint has been Denis GIBAUD, but rivals Thierry BOYER and Christian JAQUILLARD are still in the chase.

QUOTE, UNQUOTE …
Laurent Guyot (Manager, Customer Competition Department, PEUGEOT SPORT)

“The first year of the 308 Racing Cup, PEUGEOT SPORT’s new single-make racing series, draws to a close at Le Castellet. We have every reason to be pleased with the competition’s inaugural season. The cars have delivered great reliability and speed, and we have been treated to plenty of entertaining action, plus an interesting fight for the title! We are also delighted with the turnout, since we have met our target of having more than 20 cars at the last round. Julien BRICHE and Teddy Clairet wrapped up the overall and Junior championships at Magny-Cours but we are looking forward to seeing the Gentleman Drivers title and other battles up and down the order settled this weekend.”
