Winner of the 2017 Dakar! After catching the Gold in 2016, he did it again with Jean-Paul COTTRET! Together they brought back to France a second victory for the Team Peugeot Total in only three Dakar participations.


Stéphane, whose nickname is ‘’Mr. Dakar’’, is the owner of the absolute Dakar victories record with 13 win (6 in motorcycle and 7 in car category). On board of the new PEUGEOT 3008DKR, he signed his 7th success with Jean-Paul COTTRET, his guide in the performance, which also sets a new record for the co-drivers.

Two times WRC Champion and winner of the 2010 Dakar, it’s next to his compatriot and co-driver Lucas Cruz, that the Spaniard Carlos Sainz, nammed « El Matador », has been roaring the motor of the PEUGEOT 3008 DKR in 2017.


On the Dakar 2017, the crew Sainz / Cruz was unfortunately forced to abandon, after realizing a rollover crash on stage 4.

In a few words :

It’s in 1997 that Daniel and Sébastien shared a cockpit for the first time. Almost 20 years later, it was for the Dakar that PEUGEOT reformed this pair of legend.


After 78 victories et 9 titles in WRC, they join the PEUGEOT Total team in 2015. The duo impresses from its first participation on the 2016 Dakar. Very fast, they are at the first place after the race first week (rest day) and end-up 9th place in the overall rankings. In 2017, with 5 steps victories, Sébastien and Daniel proved that they are progressing very fast: they ended-up on the 2nd place on Buenos Aires’ podium, only 5 minutes far from their winning teammates.

For his 3rd participation in the car category, Cyril Despres – with co-driver David Castera – has signed his best performance on 4 wheels on the 2017 Dakar: 1st stage victory and 3rd position in the general rankings.
The French duo is particularly comfortable on the slopes of the Dakar Rally. Cyril has already won 5 editions in motorcycle whilst David has an exceptional knowledge of this race, as he has been one of the organizers for years. Now they are together looking forward renewing the feat at Silk Way Rally 2017.
