Bosch is one of the key partners of Peugeot Sport on this project, contributing actively to the definition of the components for fuel injection and to the motor control system. Bosch is currently developing a complete Common Rail injection system specially adapted to the motor of the Peugeot 908.
This Common Rail Diesel injection system for a 8 cylinder motor includes two high-pressure pumps and two fuel distributor manifolds, one per bank of cylinders, twelve piezoelectric injectors and a central electronic control that compiles and processes all the data transmitted by the sensors and manages the entire system.
Bosch has concentrated all its activities related to mechanical sports in a single unit, Bosch Motorsport. This is a part of Bosch Engineering GmBH, which specialises in engineering services. These services are part of a long tradition that is the pride of Bosch. Since 1903 Bosch technology has facilitated the first victories for racing drivers.
