7t win for Salo makes him the most successful driver in the history of this 51 year old legendary rally. Anssi Rytkönen confirmed 2WD win for Peugeot 208 R2. Our young talent Juuso Nordgren retired from a minute lead in R2.
The European heaviest winter rally, legendary Arctic Lapland Rally was a great success for Peugeot with a clear overall win for Juha Salo – Marko Salminen (208 T16 R5). This victory was first ever win in Arctic Rally for a French car.
R2-category leader from start until almost the end was our young talent, just 19-years old Juuso Nordgren. Unfortunately he retired (electric failure) just two stages from one minute lead, and finally winner in R2 category was another 208 R2-driver Anssi Rytkönen.
Arctic Rally included 10 stages in two days. The final stage was 51 km long – because this was 51th edition for this legendary rally which takes place north from Arctic Circle in wild and beautiful Finnish Lapland.
