The popularity of the 208 R2 has prompted invitations from several Peugeot subsidiaries for it to take part in more European rallies. Beginning of November we will then see it appear at the Belgium’s Rallye du Condroz as a zero car. |
Work on all types of terrain
| Two months after making its mark on the Ulster Rally in the United Kingdom, Peugeot Sport’s latest challenger has been entered to take part in the Rallye du Condroz, in addition to its previously planned outings on the Rally Sanremo (Italy) and Rallye du Var (France). The choice of these four events is no coincidence, since not only will they give the 208 R2 public airings in regions where the sport is known to have many fans but they will also enable it to appear in rally trim in what are key markets for buyers of customer competition cars. |

Bruno Famin (Director, Peugeot Sport):
| « We are delighted to see that the 208 R2 has such a varied programmed of selective and well-known events outside of France. The 208 R2 faces extremely fierce competition in its segment. We are also on schedule as far as its development testing is concerned, so, to provide our future customers with the most effective set-up solutions and gain an even more comprehensive grasp of real-world conditions, we will be taking part in a number of European rallies. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Peugeot’s subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, Belgium and Italy, as well as Peugeot France, for joining us in this project which covers both gravel and asphalt rallies. » |

Adelheid Terryn (Communications Director Peugeot Belgium):
| “It will be a great pleasure to see the brand new 208 R2 take part in this rally which is so dear to us. In 2011, the Rallye du Condroz marked the end of five fantastic seasons of rallying. During the transition period our motorsport activities are currently going through, this participation will be the perfect occasion to present our future in rallying where we left off! Peugeot Sport has done a tremendous job on this hot hatch and I am convinced it will bring plenty of enjoyment and success to those who go on to own one.” |
