Since the end of the 1970s, Peugeot Sport has been extremely active in rallying thanks, in part, to the competitiveness of the successive cars it has developed. The different models that have shone on both asphalt and gravel in the hands of privateers and budding champions alike include the 104 ZS, the Samba Rallye, the 205 GTi 1.6, the 205 Rallye, the 309 GTi, the 106 (over 10 years in XSi, Rallye and S16 form) and the 206 XS (seven years). The 207 RC Rallye was developed at Peugeot Sport's Vélizy base and benefits not only from Peugeot Sport's extensive expertise, but also from input from drivers like Stéphane Sarrazin, Bryan Bouffier, Nicolas Vouilloz, etc. The 207 RC Rallye is the fourth instalment of the '207 by Peugeot Sport' range (after the circuit racing Spider THP and 207 LW, and the 207 Super 2000 rally car), and the brand's latest rally challenger boasts serious performance credentials and its called "207 RC Evolution" since 2011.
