Peugeot 208 R2 testing continues

A week after completing 1,074km of special stages and road sections as �zero� car on the recent Tour de Corse, the new 208 R2 is still in Corsica where it is being put through its paces in asphalt trim until Friday. This test forms part of the 6,000km programme specified in the brief for Peugeot Sport�s latest rally challenger ahead of its first official participation in the Ulster Rally.

To build on the successful careers of the emblematic 205, 206, 207, Peugeot did not hesitate to explore new ground and regenerate the latters' respective strengths when designing the Peugeot 208. Peugeot Sport's three takes on the new model have been timed to correspond with the sales launch of the series production car. The first competition version to break cover is the 208 R2 which will serve as 'zero' car on this month's Tour de Corse in the hands of St�phane Sarrazin/Benjamin Veillas.

IRC - Cyprus Rally : Neuville's bid stopped in its tracks

The Peugeot Belgium-Luxemburg crew was the only subsidiary team at the start of this weekend's Cyprus Rally, but their joy was unfortunately short-lived. After emerging at the top of the leaderboard by Friday lunchtime, Thierry Neuville and Nicolas Gilsoul were halted during the second loop of stages because of an alternator issue preceded by a puncture.
