It was a good start for the first round of the Danish Rally Championship, as Peugeot Total Dealer Team DK claimed the first win of the year. Victory and maximum points on power stage for Christian Jensen and Freddy Pedersen in 208 T16 R5 and second place for team colleagues Kim Madsen and Anja Posorski in 208R2.
We got what we came for, 23 points is nice and gives us self-confidence as preparation to next round" says Christian Jensen. "I could have ended before we really got started. On the first stage we went off the road on a gravel section and we were very lucky to be able to continue, with only small damage on the car. We lost about 15 seconds, but despite the time loss we succeeded to defeat our worst competitor Ib Kragh in his brand new Citroen DS3 R 5, this was great.
It was the fifth round-win in a row for the team with the Peugeot 208 T16. Kim Madsen and Anja Posorski ended on the second place in the 208R2, close after another team.
The weather seemed a little intimidating, and it was hard to know whether it would be rain or dry. To be on the safe side, we chose rain tires for the first three stages, but that was a wrong choice, since it was dry on the first stage, and as a result we lost time to the other teams says Kim Madsen.
